This visa is for tourists, business visitors, or family visits and usually allows stays of 3, 6, 12 or 36 months.

 

Tourist Stream

This stream allows you to visit Australia as a tourist, visit family and friends, or even join a cruise.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must visit Australia solely for tourism purposes.
  • Have sufficient funds to cover your stay.
  • Not undertake any work in Australia.
  • You may be in or outside Australia at the time of application and decision.

What You Can Do:

  • Visit family and friends.
  • Travel as a tourist, join a cruise, or for any non-business or non-medical purpose.
  • Study or train for up to 3 months. If study is your primary reason for travel, consider applying for a Student Visa.

Restrictions:

  • You cannot work in Australia.

 

Sponsored Family Stream

This stream is for applicants sponsored by a family member to visit Australia.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must have a family sponsor.
  • Your visit must be for tourism purposes only.

What You Can Do:

  • Visit family and friends.
  • Engage in tourism, join a cruise, or for any non-business or non-medical purpose.
  • Study or train for up to 3 months. For longer-term studies, a Student Visa may be more suitable.

Sponsor Responsibilities:
Sponsors are responsible for ensuring the visitor complies with:

  • Visa conditions.
  • Australian employment laws.
  • Repaying any debts owed to the Australian government by the visitor.

Scope of Sponsorship:
The sponsorship applies specifically to the subclass 600 visa applicant.

 

Business Visitor Stream

This stream is designed for genuine business visitors.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must travel to Australia for business-related activities.
  • Be outside Australia at the time of application and decision.

What You Can Do:

  • Make general business or employment inquiries.
  • Investigate, negotiate, or review business contracts.
  • Participate in official government visits.
  • Attend conferences, trade fairs, or seminars without receiving payment from organisers.
  • Engage in tourist activities.

Restrictions:

  • You cannot work for or provide services to an Australian-based business or organisation.
  • You cannot sell goods or services directly to the public.

Alternative Options:
If you intend to undertake short-term work not related to business visitor activities, consider applying for a Temporary Work Visa.
